Used Halloween Costume Donation Drive
Starting Friday September 5th, Beverly Recreation will be hosting a Used Halloween Costume Donation Drive. There will be two drop off locations, Beverly Public Library Children’s Room (main branch only) and Lynch Park gate.
We will be accepting gently used kids and adult sized costumes along with all the necessary accessories and essential add-ons!
Our Costume Sale will take place in early October, stay tuned for more!

Join a BevRec Favorite: Body Sculpture with Heli!

This long-running, much-loved class is the perfect way to get moving and feel great. Heli will guide you through light exercises and stretching activities designed to help you build strength and flexibility in a welcoming environment.

Beginners Crochet
This is a 5 week class being held at the Senior Center (90 Colon St, Beverly)
$90 per person (Materials are not included. See below.)
Want to make some of those cute little characters, a granny square vest that is popular, maybe a baby afghan for your friend’s new baby? In this class you will learn the basic stitches, how to read a pattern, make a tension test swatch. We’ll discuss the different types and weights of yarn. Advice starting a project of your choice, or help with a project that has you stuck and frustrated. This class is for any skill level. A beginner who has never picked up a crochet hook or maybe you need a refresher. All are welcome.
Materials needed: 1 skein of single color Worsted Weight yarn, size H crochet hook, a pair of scissors, a tape measure or small ruler, pen and paper for notes.
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Polly has been crocheting and knitting since learning from her grandmother as a child. She continued to master her craft over the years. Her intricate and colorful crocheted and knitted pieces have received many accolades and awards. The latest was First Place for a crocheted afghan and Best In Show for a knitted afghan. She is looking forward to bringing her joy of crocheting to others. Polly resides in Beverly with her dog Coto.

Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9/30 - 10/30 at BHS. Classes run from 6am-7am.
$110 Per Person
Boot Camp is a total-body conditioning program designed to improve your muscular strength, overall power core strength, agility, coordination, speed, flexibility and balance. Challenging workouts for all participants from beginning to advanced. Starting from scratch? Boosting your current workout? This is the class for you.
Longtime instructor Steve Gold will help modify the workout to suit your individual needs.

Beverly Cornhole League (Adults)
Season 9 of the Beverly Cornhole League begins Tuesday September 30th, 2025
This will be a “doubles” league, though one person teams are allowed. Ages 18+. The league is co-ed. You can enter the league as either a team ($100) or if you would like to be placed on a team, you can sign up individually ($55). Games will be held on Tuesday nights.
Each team will play an 8 night season, then a playoff
League will be held at Camp Paradise

ASHI Child and Babysitting Safety Training
For ages 11-14
The new Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from ASHI gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, the magazine-format CABS guide and vlogger-style video make learning fun. Participants will be trained and certified in First Aid, CPR and AED.
$120 per student.
This class will be held at Camp Paradise at 44 Cole St in Beverly
Students are asked to bring a snack, lunch and a drink.
Taught by Greater Boston Safety Training.

Tai Chi for All Levels

Classes on 10/15 & 11/19 will be held at Camp Paradise (44 Cole St.)
No Class on 11/26 due to Thanksgiving
Students of this class will learn the fundamental principles of Tai Chi and how to apply them in the practice of Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan Short Form. Students will also become acquainted with complementary practices such as Zhan Zhuang, Qi Gong and Bagua Zhang. This class will aim to improve the students understanding of movement, the body’s natural ability to draw in and expend energy efficiently as well as develop a practice that promotes an overall sense of well being.
Instructor Bio
Paul Findlen is a practicing martial artist, and tai chi and yoga instructor who lives in Beverly’s Ryal Side neighborhood. Paul has studied Tai Chi, Zenmudo, and Sunmudo with Vijay Son, and Tai Chi and Qigong as a student at Great Bay Tai Chi, under the instruction of Austin Murray and Master Paul Mahoney. Paul has also trained in boxing with Jack Dullea, received his yoga certification under the tutelage of Deana Bacon, and currently trains Brazilian jiu jitsu at the Invictus Training Center, as a student of head coach Nate Morrison. Paul enjoys composing and performing music, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.

Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED Certification Class
Longtime instructors, Greater Boston Safety Training will lead this one day class.
This course is designed for Teachers, Coaches, Babysitters, Construction workers, and the general public. This classroom course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA as well as CPR and AED certification training - all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course is modular to meet the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The core module comprises general principles, medical emergencies and injury emergencies.
The class will be held at Camp Paradise at 44 Cole St. Beverly.
Students are advised to bring a notebook, pen, water and snack/lunch.
Cost: $120 per student.


Advanced Crochet
Have a crochet project you’d like to try but need help with pattern reading and complicated stitches? Working on a project but you’re stuck and need motivation and help to move on? This class is for you! In Advanced Beginner you will work on your own project and receive individual attention to get you started or over the hump.
You must know basic stitches: Slip Knot, Single Crochet, Double Crochet & Slip Stitch. If you do not have any experience and would like to learn these stitches the Beginner Crochet Class is for you.

Pickleball Level 2A: Beyond Beginner Clinic

Classes will take place at the Birch Plains Pickleball Courts (9/3 - 10/8)
2A Level is for players looking to improve the serve (classic and drop), and the strategic return of serve. This session will also focus on the block shot, volley or ground stroke and working on more precise placement of shots. We will continue to work on helping students make their dink shots low and unattackable. This session will also address backhand skills and court positioning. Near the end of some sessions, players will have an opportunity to receive coaching as points are played out.

Summer Concert Series at Lynch: 4EverFab
Join us at Lynch Park for a night of free and fantastic music with 4EverFab!
2025 will mark the 13th season of concerts by 4EverFab - a Beatles tribute band that focuses on authentically recreating the sound of the "Lads from Liverpool." 4EverFab has played more than 330 summer concerts for cities and towns in MA and NH, as well as venues that include the Cabot Street Theater, the Topsfield Fair, and the Plainridge Park Casino.
The band still features all four founding members of the band. Unique elements of their show include narration of the "back-stories" behind the songs and playing their entire show "By Request" so that audiences get to hear the songs THEY want to hear!

Human Trails First Aid Course

Designed for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners, SafeTrails is a 4-hour first aid course focused on the unique needs of front country trail users, where help is nearby, but not immediate.
Led by a seasoned emergency medicine provider with decades of clinical and teaching experience, this course blends key skills from urban and wilderness first aid. Learn how to assess injuries, respond effectively, and decide when to keep going, head back, or call 911. All materials provided.

Beverly Homecoming Grand Finale of Fireworks. Enjoy the fireworks by boat, or on your favorite Beverly Beach with your neighbors, friends, and family. Get ready for a day of festive fun at the Lynch Park Carnival! Join us for an exciting event packed with thrilling games, delicious treats, and a lively atmosphere. Bring your family and friends to experience the joy and wonder of a classic carnival. Indulge in cotton candy, test your skills at various game booths, and enjoy the vibrant entertainment and activities. This event is open to the public. Children must bring money as games will cost tickets bought in two-dollar or five-dollar options. No child who is unable to purchase tickets will be turned away! There's something for everyone, so mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable day at the Lynch Park Carnival!
