BODY SCULPTURING

Instructor: Helli Sharfman. This individualized exercise program is ideal for the physically fit person, the novice, or individual with back, knee, or other problems. Body Sculpturing is a move-at-your-own pace class that develops muscle toning without weights and exercises work the entire body. Gentle, slow-flow style for students at every level of fitness. Please bring a mat.

BOOT CAMP (GROUP FITNESS CLASS)

Instructor: Steve Gold. Boot Camp is a total-body conditioning program designed to improve your muscular strength, overall power, muscular and cardiovascular endurance, core strength, agility, coordination, speed, flexibility, and balance. We can modify exercises to meet your needs. We are a very fun and friendly group and would love to have you join us. Choose a 2-day per week class (mix and match Cardio & Core on Monday & Wednesday with Strength & Conditioning on Tuesday & Thursday), Try our 3-day per week option and pick which three days you work out, OR get it all in the 4-day per week class (Monday-Thursday).

YOGA FOR THE FULLER FIGURE

Instructor: Lynn Helferich. Also known as Gentle Approach Yoga, this class features slower transitions between the poses, gentle stretches and poses, guided visualization and breathing techniques to support improved strength, balance, and flexibility and encourage peaceful relaxation. If you find a gym or studio setting is not for you, then this may be just the class you are looking for. Alternatives are offered for sensitive joints or muscles. Yoga mat and supportive pillow or towel are strongly encouraged. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

STRENGTH & SURRENDER BEGINNER FRIENDLY YOGA

Instructor: Nicole Anastas, Embody Balance. This evening yoga series blends a 45 minute beginner friendly, strength building Vinyasa flow with 30 minutes of gentler, restorative poses. We will focus on breath and linking breath with movement, to cultivate mind-body awareness and help with stress reduction. Each class ends with a final relaxation and meditation.

Five Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00PM. Runs from February 27-March 27 at the Beverly Senior Center. $80.

YOGA FOR EVERYONE

Instructor: Kasey Sampson. Have you ever wanted to try yoga but feel it’s inaccessible for your body? Shatter that idea through this supportive, alignment-focused practice where we connect breath, postures and movement to find our yoga, our union. Providing accessibility for all bodies and all levels of yoga, Kasey leads you through an experience where you can relax and go deeper while finding your edge and proving to yourself you are worth it! Bring a mat or two for extra cushioning, strap, blocks, towel and/or blanket.

FINDING YOUR ALIGNMENT: STABILIZING YOUR YOGA PRACTICE

Instructor: Kasey Sampson. Knowledge is power! Come dissect important fundamental yoga poses to aid in strengthening, deepening and opening your practice. Step by step and then pieced together in a cohesive slow to moderate flow, this class will focus on how to keep integrity in a pose, safely connect the poses, and use props to enhance and support your practice.

KIDS FLY TYING PROGRAM (AGES 11+)

Instructor: Craig Andree. This February vacation week program will teach kids (ages 11+) the art and science of fly tying. The class focuses on the fundamentals of how to create an “artificial lure”, commonly called a fly, which represents an imitation of what a fish would eat in nature. We will talk about the tools, materials, supplies, and techniques needed to create a fly. Furthermore, we will discuss basic entomology and how it relates to the flies they will actually tie. All participants will leave with flies that they have tied that can be used on a river or lake. The class is limited to six students.
All equipment and materials will be provided. If you have a vise and tools, you are encouraged to bring them.

Tuesday-Friday, 10:00AM-Noon. Runs from February 19-22 at the Orvis Store in the Northshore Mall on 210 Andover Street in Peabody. $90.

TUMBLING STARS GYMNASTICS (AGES 3-5)

Instructor: Iron Rail Gymnastics. This preschool gymnastics class meets one time per week for 45 minutes. All equipment used is age appropriate and tailored to the size of preschool children. The children participate in activities that develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and listening skills. The use of games, music, balls, hoops, and small obstacle courses, in addition to preliminary skills taught on the gymnastics equipment, creates a unique atmosphere for learning. Choose a class that starts at 11:00AM or 1:00PM.

TAI CHI FOR BEGINNERS

Instructor: A. Jorgelina Zeoli. Tai Chi, a sequence of slow, flowing dance-like movements based on Chinese Martial Arts, supports memory, concentration, coordination, balance, flexibility, circulation, muscle strength, and helps with pain and stiffness. Tai Chi is meditation in movement and it aligns with any spiritual path through the integration of body, mind and spirit. Wear loose clothes and comfortable shoes. Choose classes on Wednesday nights in Beverly AND/OR on Saturday mornings in Essex.

YOUTH UMPIRE TRAINING

Instructor: Bruce Doig. Learn the basics necessary to umpire Little League and Girls Softball games. Open to any boy or girl who will be 13 years old by April 1, 2019. Training includes rules of the game, on-field situations, and umpiring mechanics for youth games. All participants receive rule books.
PLEASE NOTE: Class is open only to Beverly residents. Class size is limited to 15 students. Passing this class does not guarantee game assignments, due to the limited number of games available.
