ONE DAY WATERCOLOR MASTER CLASS

Instructor: Jeannie Donovan. You can learn how to paint with watercolors! In this one-day workshop we will examine the works of the great watercolor painters, then warm up with exercises in color mixing, washes, wet on wet, and dry brush. Learn through the demonstration of techniques in sketching, composition, and experimentation. Working from landscape photos or still life objects, this will be a fun and invigorating painting class. Open to all levels, and to former students who want to further investigate watercolor painting.
Supply list will be sent upon registration.

One Saturday, 10:00AM-4:00PM. Runs on June 2 at Camp Paradise on 44 Cole Street in Beverly. $75.

ALL DAY ART JAM! (AGES 8–12)

Instructor: Margaurita Spear. Spend the day making art! In this 5-hour workshop, participants will have the time to complete an impressive masterpiece using provided art materials. Margaurita Spear is a fine artist and art educator holding a BFA from Montserrat College of Art and a Massachusetts state teaching certification. She is currently the lower school art teacher at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly.
A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at class. Bring along a bagged, nut-free lunch.

CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP: EXPAND ON WHAT YOU LEARNED IN BEGINNING CALLIGRAPHY!

Instructor: Dianne Gagnon. Now that you know a calligraphy alphabet, lets explore what you can create with it! Week one, learn how to set up an envelope template and create a few background papers. Week two, design a wooden sign you’ll be proud to hang or give as a gift using paint, brushes, and your calligraphy lettering skills.
A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at class. Bring calligraphy markers/pens, tracing paper, a pencil, and a ruler.

Two Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00PM. Runs on April 10 & 24 at the Beverly Senior Center. $32.

BEGINNING CALLIGRAPHY

Instructor: Dianne Gagnon. Add your personal touch to gifts, crafts, and art. Beginner Calligraphy is a hands-on, relaxing, and mindful skill or hobby. Learn letter by letter, the Italic alphabet. Using calligraphy markers or brush pens, this beginner alphabet quickly develops into classic Chancery Cursive or Modern Freehand Style.
Please bring a pad of tracing paper that is 8½” x 12” or larger, felt tip calligraphy pens (medium or 2.0 elegant writer), and brush pens (medium point).

Four Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00PM. Runs from March 13-April 3 at the Beverly Senior Center. $55.

GETTIN’ STICKY! FUN WITH DUCT TAPE!

Instructor: Margaurita Spear. With the many colors and patterns of duct tape available, now you can use duct tape to make accessories, crafts, and other exciting objects. In this class participants will choose from a number of possible project options to create including wallets, decorative flowers, notebook covers, jewelry and more! For ages 10 to adults. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.
$10 materials fee is payable to the instructor at class. Please bring your own notebook if you are interested in making a notebook cover.

One Monday, 7:00-9:00PM. Class runs on April 8 at the Beverly Senior Center. $22.

BEGINNER NEEDLE FELTING

WE'RE SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL!

Instructor: Margaurita Spear. Needle felting involves working with wool roving to create two- and three-dimensional crafts and artworks. Through hands-on experience participants will acquire the skills needed to follow a pattern, design a project free-style, embellish clothing and create impressive homemade gifts. Materials fee of $30 is payable at the first class and covers all basic materials to make several projects including wool roving, color wool, a foam felting pad, and felting needles.

Three Mondays, 7:00-9:00PM. Runs from April 22-May 6 at the Beverly Senior Center. $52.

HOW TO TAME YOUR CAMERA… AND TEACH IT TO DO TRICKS

Instructor: Thom Adorney. This innovative, hands-on class is designed to help you move beyond taking snapshots and learn how to create vivid images. When you understand a few basics, you can train your camera to do amazing tricks and create images you’ll love. Also learn how to process and enhance images using photo-editing software on your computer or mobile device. These sessions provide instruction, handouts, the opportunity to share photos, and engage in friendly critique. Limited to 10 participants.
A $5.00 materials fee is payable to the instructor. Bring your compact or DSLR camera, paper, pen.
