FENCING
Instructor: 3MB Fencing Club
Fencing develops physical fitness, the ability to develop strategy, concentration as well as camaraderie and respect. It's fun, it's fast, it's an Olympic sport! Participants of all ages will be working together! Ages 8 - Adult. 8 classes.

PARENT & TOT GYMNASTICS (AGES 1-3)
Instructor: Iron Rail Gymnastics
Toddlers and their guardians will run through a series of activities designed to stimulate, educate and improve socialization. This informal class uses music and child-sized equipment to develop physical, verbal and social skills. 8 classes.

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS CLASS (AGES 3-5)
Instructor: Iron Rail Gymnastics
Children develop strength, flexibility, coordination and listening skills. Games, music, balls, hoops and small obstacle courses, in addition to preliminary skills taught on the gymnastics equipment, create a unique atmosphere for learning. 8 classes.

MOMMY & ME YOGA
Instructor: Nicole Anastas
Developed for children, ages 3-6, and their caregivers. Kids will work with the adults using songs, stories and creative play while learning Yoga postures, breathing and meditation. Encourages family bonding, healthy bodies and minds. 5 classes.
Wear clothing you can move in freely. All equipment provided.

A GOOD START FOR NEWBORNS & NEW PARENTS
Instructor: Robin Snyder-Drummond
This class will describe the normal process of recovery, beginning breastfeeding, your infant’s early development and your start as a parenting team. Meet other expectant parents. For expectant mothers, partners and those who support them.
Bring a pillow and/or drink for your comfort.

PARENT & TOT PLAYGROUP
Enjoy crafts, songs and free play in an informal group setting. Skilled Playgroup Facilitator and American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard. Birth to pre-kindergarten. (Parents responsible for supervising their own children).

POLAR PLUNGE

Planning has begun for the Beverly Affordable Housing Coalition’s (BAHC) icy fundraising tradition. Drawing in over 100 “plungers” and 400 spectators, Beverly residents will take to the beach on Super Bowl Sunday to raise awareness and support for local affordable housing. TAEKWONDO

Children will build self-confidence and body awareness while gaining strength, focus and discipline. Master Kim will help them experience the thrill of teamwork and the give and take of leadership and support. For kids ages 6-14. 8 classes.

TOUCH A TRUCK

Join us for trucks, trucks, trucks! Get up close and personal with some of our favorite “big rigs”! If you’re a truck lover young or old, know a truck lover or just want to have a great afternoon, come out and interact with a wide variety of trucks, construction vehicles, public safety vehicles and more! The Beverly Masons will be there, offering their CHIP (Child Identification) program, free of charge. Whatever you do... don’t forget the camera! Sponsored by the Beverly DPW & Cummings Center. YOUTH UMPIRE TRAINING
Instructor: Bruce Doig
Learn the basics necessary to umpire Little League and Girls Softball games. Open to anyone who will be 13 by April 1, 2010. Training includes rules of the game, on-field situations and umpiring mechanics. All participants receive rulebooks.

5th ANNUAL OPEN SPACE & RECREATION COMMITTEE
WALKS IN THE WOODS & SHORE

The Beverly Open Space and Recreation Committee invites you to join us this spring as we celebrate Earth Day 2010 with our 5th Annual Nature Walk series. For 6 weekends join us as we explore some of Beverly’s cherished natural areas. Each walk will be led by an invited guest expert or Committee member who will discuss topics ranging from wildflowers and mushrooms to reptiles and ocean critters to forest ecology and geology.
