Preparing for a 5k!
Instructor: Annalisa Di Palma, Fusion Fitness
This small group program is designed for individuals with little to no running experience who have the desire to run or
run/walk a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) road race. Join Annalisa as she takes to the streets (beaches and parks!) of Beverly
for an organized training plan that will include the basics of starting a running program and will teach you how many days
per week you should run, how many miles to run each day, what pace is appropriate and the best stretches for runners.
Those with some running experience (within the past 30 days) who have run a 5k before are welcome and encouraged. 6
classes.
Annalisa Di Palma is the co-owner of Fusion Fitness in Beverly and has over 2 decades of running experience. She has
run 9 marathons, trained with Boston Area Running clubs, coached at the middle school level and currently coaches individual
runners and small groups. Annalisa is a USA Track & Field Level I Coach and is Mad Dogg Spinning® certified. She has
8 years of marketing & PR experience, a BA from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern.

This is an adult fitness program designed for every level that will improve the fitness of everyone that participates.
All aspects of a well-rounded fitness program (cardiovascular endurance, full-body strength, flexibility and nutrition)
are covered, which will kick start you on the road to optimum health! The staff will track your progress throughout.

Brandi & Steve Dion are the creators of B&S Fitness Programs. They have brought many successful programs,

Cardio and Core Training (CCT)
Instructors: B&S Fitness
This two-day per week program is designed to develop or greatly improve ones cardiovascular endurance, stamina and power.
We focus on core strength, balance and stability each day after the running. Through a variety of running drills, cone
drills, obstacle courses, hill running and many group activities, you are guaranteed to improve and progress. It is great
for all levels and abilities so don't be shy, it's time to focus on your health and stamina!
If you workout regularly or if you are training for a marathon, triathlon or other running/endurance event, CCT will give
you the interval training that you need to help increase your speed, power and endurance. You will not get bored with CCT
- we keep it fresh and keep everyone on their toes. Break up the monotony of training on your own, you will have fun and
greatly improve your running speed and endurance, guaranteed.

Fencing
Instructors: 3MB Fencing Club
Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest growing in the world! Young people and adults are fascinated by the
movements and excitement of fencing and are eager to find a place that they can go to learn this original, modern sport.
Fencing develops physical fitness, the ability to develop strategy, concentration as well as camaraderie and respect.
Participants of all ages will be working together! IT'S FUN, IT'S FAST, IT'S AN OLYMPIC SPORT! Ages 8 - Adult.

3MB Fencing Club stands for 3 Mullarkey Brothers, Jack, Ed and Jim. They began fencing in 1963 and have won many
events including the New England Interscholastic Championships, North Atlantic Sectional Championships and the USA National
Championships. They owe their success to excellent coaching and utilize their training as their model.

Learn to Fish & Improve Your Fish Catching Abilities
Instructor: Arnold Goldsmith
Many people enjoy fishing, but not all people actually catch fish. There is an art to successfully catching fish. This
course is designed to help people learn how to fish and/or improve their hook-to-catching ratio. Also, learn what
fisheries are available in our state and in neighboring states, from fresh to saltwater and all the tactics used from fly
fishing to shore fishing to boat sport fishing, utilizing all kinds of equipment from simple bait tactics right through to
down rigging and outriggers. The instructor will provide equipment and photos for hands-on training and demonstration. 8
classes.
Please bring a pen and paper.
Arnold Goldsmith is a seasoned angler with 30+ years of fresh and saltwater experience, including many catches
recognized by the Commonwealth of Mass. He is well acquainted with New England and New York fisheries and is certified in
boating and navigational skills.

Begin to Spin

This small group class is designed for participants to become familiar with the program, learn how to ride at their own
level and feel comfortable in any Spinning class! Each class will consist of a 35-40 minute ride designed to teach the
building blocks of safe and successful riding. It will end with a full body stretch and an opportunity to ask questions.
All that’s needed is an open mind and a willingness to have fun! We’ll cover all the basics of bike safety, personalized
modifications and what to expect in a class setting. Spring water and towels are provided – just bring a water bottle and
wear comfortable clothes!! 4 classes.
*This class is safe and appropriate for pre and post natal participants (please bring a heart rate monitor, or call
Fusion Fitness and they can provide one for you).

Full Body Strength & Conditioning
Instructors: B&S Fitness
This program is designed for people who do cardiovascular work on their own (triathletes, runners, cyclists, etc.) or for
those who have injuries that prevent them from being able to run and do drills. One day a week will focus on upper-body
conditioning and the other day will focus on the lower-body. There is light cardio each day, which can be modified. We
also touch on core conditioning each day.
Examples of exercises are push-ups, lunge walks, squats, tubing exercises, leg bands and many other body weight
activities. Exercises can be modified for all levels, so we highly encourage everyone to join for a different type of
full body conditioning!
