DOG PARK SUBCOMMITTEE

The mission of the Beverly Parks & Recreation Commission Dog Park Subcommittee is to use approved off-leash areas as designated by the Recreation Commission in order for well-behaved dogs to run, play, and socialize with other well-behaved dogs.

The Dog Park Subcommittee has identified many potential sites that they plan to recommend to the Recreation Commission. Their goal is to create fenced-in areas for dogs in areas that are handicap accessible and convenient to the public. They would also like to create areas that will not be fenced-in and will be available to dogs who can behave off leash under voice command.

Would you like to get involved? Please contact Sheila Field, Dog Park Subcommittee Chairperson, at sheilafield@hotmail.com.

LYNCH PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Lynch Park Advisory Committee continues to work very hard to renovate the carriage house. Winter work will be completed to ensure the structural integrity of the building and to make more space available on the first floor for community events and functions. This new space will be fully ADA compliant and will continue to preserve the look and feel of the original building.

The past year was busy with many successful events culminating with an incredible night of entertainment with “Beverly’s Got Talent” in December. Many Beverly residents and natives, along with the BHS Jazz Band and Chorale Group, performed under the direction of Beverly High’s Ray Novack. Many thanks to Ray, the members of the LPAC and other volunteers. The LPAC is planning for future events and a fundraising strategy to help make our dream of completely renovating the carriage house into a cultural and community center for all Beverly citizens a reality. Visit www.bevrec.com, for details on how you can help.
