ARTSFEST BEVERLY
SATURDAY, JUNE 21 10:00AM-4:00PM CABOT STREET IN DOWNTOWN BEVERLY
Here comes the sun! What a better way to kick off summer than with the best Arts Fest ever? The seventh annual Arts Fest
Beverly is primed to celebrate the arts in downtown Beverly. Last year’s event drew 4,000 people and they’re gearing up
for even more folks in 2008. Beverly Main Streets has moved the date and lined up 100 fabulous artists and craftspeople.
There will be a special exhibition of community art and student art with talent from Montserrat College of Art, Endicott
College School of Design and Beverly High School and interactive and fun new kids’ activities so that even the youngest
visitors can express themselves through art. There will also be great music, food from local restaurants and dancing in
the street!

CONCERTS
@ LYNCH PARK & BEVERLY COMMONS
Concerts at Lynch Park take place on Sunday evenings, 6:00-8:00PM, starting June 1 and ending on the last night of
Homecoming, August 10. Stay past 8:00PM and enjoy a fun movie, projected on the Lynch Park shell. Concerts on the Beverly
Commons take place on Thursday evenings, 6:00-8:00PM, starting June 28 and ending August 7. A wide range of music is
featured from big band to soft rock to jazz and country! Appropriate for all ages, so bring the whole family!

4th ANNUAL DAVID S. LYNCH APPRECIATION DAY
SATURDAY, AUGUST 9 1:00-10:00PM
Come join Beverly Recreation and the LPAC in the annual family celebration of the man who made it possible for Beverly to
have its shining jewel, Lynch Park. Without the generosity of David S. Lynch, Beverly citizens would not be able to enjoy
this beautiful park and all it has to offer. Join us for fun, games, entertainment, tours of the original carriage house
and the classic movie, “The Wizard of Oz”.

BEVERLY HOMECOMING
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 - SUNDAY, AUGUST 10
The official Homecoming Program, including a detailed calendar of events, will be published by the Beverly Citizen. The
Lobster Festival, one of Homecoming’s highlights, will take place on Wednesday, August 6th at Lynch Park. Local businesses
will be given the opportunity to set up vendor tables at this year’s Lobster Festival for a sponsor fee of minimally $250
per table. Interested businesses are required to inform the Beverly Homecoming Committee as to the goods being sold /
demonstrated. The sale of T-shirts, hats/caps, and raffle tickets will not be permitted. Approved vendors will be issued
"vendor passes" for the day, and no vendor will be allowed to set up at Lynch Park without the appropriate pass, The
Homecoming Committee will assign all the spaces. All money collected will go directly into the newly established Beverly
Homecoming Fireworks Fund.

LPAC FUNDRAISER AT THE MANDRAKE RESTAURANT

Join the Lynch Park Advisory Committee (LPAC) for a fun evening at the Mandrake Restaurant to support the carriage house
project and learn more about this historic building and its future transformation for all to enjoy. Food and cash bar.

PARENT & TOT PLAYGROUP
NEW at Lynch Park!
Experience the Parent & Tot Surf, Sand & Saltwater Playgroup this summer along the
beautiful banks of Lynch Park, with a skilled Playgroup Facilitator and American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard. Enjoy
wading in the water, crafts, songs and free play with your child in an informal group setting. Great way for parents and
kids to all interact and socialize. Ages range from birth to 5 years. (Parents are responsible for supervising their own
children during the session.)

DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION & RECREATION PARKSPASS PROGRAM
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is now offering its ParksPass program through local
recreation departments in addition to participating libraries. This program invites you to explore 450,000 acres of
parks, campgrounds, forests, mountains and beaches right in your own back yard! The ParksPass entitles the bearer to
FREE parking for one carload of visitors at over 50 facilities in the Massachusetts State Parks system that charge a
day-use parking fee. Enjoy hiking, swimming, mountain biking and much more! For more information check out the DCR web
site at www.mass.gov/dcr.
The DCR ParksPass is available for FREE checkout at the Beverly Recreation Department office during normal business hours
(M-F, 8:30AM-4:30PM). Please call (978) 921-6067 to reserve the Parks Pass. Only one ParksPass is available. All
checkouts must be done in person.
NOTE: Pass not valid at Nantasket or Nahant beaches. ParksPass is intended for personal vehicles only. Vehicles
with 15+ passengers require a bus permit.

TOUCH A TRUCK

Get up close and personal with some of our favorite “big rigs”! If you’re a truck lover young or old, know a truck lover
or just want to have a great afternoon, come out and interact with a wide variety of trucks, construction vehicles,
public safety vehicles and more! The Beverly Masons will be there, offering their CHIP (Child Identification) program,
free of charge. Don’t forget the camera!

TENNIS & GOLF TOURNAMENTS
Register early! Tournaments have specific deadlines and may fill prior to that date!
38th ANNUAL CITY ADULT TENNIS TOURNAMENT: FRIDAY, JULY 25 – SUNDAY, JULY 27
Opening ceremony and tournament will begin Friday evening at 5:00 p.m. with first-round matches at Beverly Golf &
Tennis (Rain site is Bass River Tennis Club). Format is single elimination with consolation. Everyone is guaranteed to
get 2 matches. Seeding is done by tournament director and seeding committee. Everyone receives a 2008 Homecoming City
Championship t-shirt. Tournament entrants must be 18 and up!

3rd ANNUAL CITY JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT: MONDAY, JULY 28 – THURSDAY, JULY 31
This is a great way for children and teens to play tennis and get involved with Homecoming. For kids ages 18 and under.
This is a rain or shine event. Please bring a new can of balls. All participants will receive a 2008 tournament
t-shirt.

women’s flight with sufficient team registration.

Join the LPAC for an afternoon of wedding bliss as we host a wedding vow renewal ceremony in the beautiful garden at Lynch
Park. All couples are invited to participate whether you got married at Lynch Park or not. Join the thousands of couples
who have married over the years in the perfect setting for love.
The Lynch Park carriage house will also be the setting for a great show of wedding vendors including musicians,
photographers, printers, florists, caterers, bridal shops, tuxedo shops, limousine companies, etc. Come visit vendors
with many great ideas for your special day.
