Summer Concert Series at the Gazebo: Whiskey Talk

WhiskeyTalk is a hard driving acoustic 4 piece out of Beverly and Gloucester featuring Carl Gasowski, Jim Kuhns, Paul Howard, and Doug Turnbull.  All veterans of Boston area bands, each brings his own unique musical baggage along on a somewhat meandering and genre-bending cross country drive that picks up dialects and influences along the way.

WhiskeyTalk is fronted by 2 songwriters whose most recent bands were punk and bluegrass, and backed by a Rock and Roll rhythm section. Coming from pretty divergent worlds has given us the ability to push each other into and out of our own comfortable genres and come up with a sound that's unique but deferential to its roots. We recently released our first album, Batten Down the Hatches, which is available on all streaming services

Come down to the Beverly Common Gazebo and enjoy the music! And get more information on the fantastic Whisky Talk HERE!

The cool thing about this movie is that there is multiple ways to enjoy. First and foremost, it’s a killer movie. Secondly, we can sit around and talk about how Stallone lost Best Supporting Actor to the dude from Bridge of Spies. Bridge. Of. Spies. That movie was so bad Williams wouldn’t even score it for Spielberg. A movie so bad that when the Coens wrote it…yes, those Coens, they gave it to someone else to make. Or, thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, you can just sit around and look at Michael B Jordan for 2 hours. Win, win, win.

Fall Frolic 5k & Fun Run 2024

This is not a BevRec Event.

For more info contact PTOSUMMIT@gmail.com

2024 brings the 13th Annual Fall Frolic 5K & Fun Run – our awesome team effort that brings together all five of our Beverly elementary schools for a day of running fun!   Each year we are thrilled with our community’s commitment and participation and we’re hoping for another repeat on Sunday, October 13th at Lynch Park!

The event is OPEN TO EVERYONE – runners, walkers, parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, students and folks pushing strollers too!  There is truly something for everyone – the 5K (that travels the traditional Homecoming route beginning and ending at Lynch Park) and the half-mile Fun Run for the younger kids.

It’s always a great day!  The goal of the Fall Frolic continues to be three-fold:

  • To raise funds that will enrich the academic programs for more than 2,000 elementary school children in Beverly

  • To create an event whose message encompasses building strong minds and healthy bodies

  • To collaborate more effectively and build unity among the five Beverly elementary schools.

We hope you will join us!

No same day registration. Please register in advance.

Full Moon Fire Release Ceremony - Full Super Moon in Aries/Taurus

$35 per person

REGISTRATION LINK COMING SOON!

Location: Lynch Beach (next to the Rose Garden)

Fire Ceremonies have been used by medicine people for thousands of years to dissolve stuck energy and transform life depleting patterns. This month is a full moon in the sign of Aries. Join Zhana Levitsky, Owner of Folk Magic as she helps you to slow down, relax, and ground so that you can delve deep to discover the answers that lie within. This will be our final Full Moon Ceremony of 2023! Please join us to celebrate!

What to Bring: A chair or blanket to sit on, a sweatshirt or jacket as it may be cooler by the water, bug spray, a journal and pen. Refreshments and snacks will be served and marshmallows will be available for roasting after the ceremony.

Instructor Bio: Zhana (she/her & we/us) is an initiated high priestess of the Cabot tradition of witchcraft in Salem Massachusetts, a master of Reiki Shamanism™, a master teacher in the Usui Ryoho Shiki Reiki tradition, founder of Coven of the Sun and a certified facilitator of the mythopoetic approach contained in "Women Who Run With The Wolves" by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes and the Archetypal & Cross-Cultural Studies Institute.   Zhana brings over 20 years of intentional witchcraft studies & embracing the magic lifestyle into her work. She has been a public, “out of the broom closet” witch since taking her first occult job at 19 years old at The Cat The Crow & The Crown in Salem’s Pickering Wharf in the early aughts. Since then, she’s matured and focused as community leader, entrepreneur and folk ritual maker with launching intentional businesses: Zeitgeist Gallery and Yes Art Space in Beverly, Yes Wolf Spirit in Rockport Ma and Witchx online. Folk Magic is now her online nexus and home.  Zhana co-founded Tarot Salon in Salem, Mass which ran 1x month for 78 consecutive months at Hauswitch Home & Healing. Tarot Salon concluded in this form late March 2023 (and will pop up in another form elsewhere soon!). She shares her vision by way of tarot reading and education, coaching and mentoring, and public monthly moon circles both in person and online. She has been actively teaching witchcraft and varied occult topics since 2016.   Zhana respects the preciousness of individual identity and is aligned with causes granting dignity to all living things. She views healing as process and holding sacred space for others to open into their authenticity is at the heart of her work. Zhana is the creator of FOLK MAGIC and holds an ALM in Literature from Harvard University. Fused Glass: An Introduction

$230 per person. All materials included.

This is a 4 week class (3.7, 3.14, 3.21, 3.28) from 6:30-8pm.

Students in this class will learn the ancient art of glass fusing! This class requires no prior experience and is ideal for students who are curious about trying a new art form and love working with their hands. Students will be taught through demonstrations and hands-on instruction about different methods for cutting, working with and arranging glass. They’ll learn about color, composition and other art terms to further their understanding of glass work. All students will be taught the basic building blocks of working with glass through specific small projects including pendants, coasters, and sandblasted cups. After making these glass creations each participant will complete a larger project such as a unique and ornate jewelry bowl, picture frame, or sun catcher! Cost pp is $230, which includes all materials and tools needed for the class.

Instructor: Anya Ciarametaro has been working with glass since 2012 after falling in love with the art form at Salem State University. After pursuing a minor in 3-Dimensional Art in order to take every glass class possible, she went on to teach glassblowing to tweens at Camp Chateaugay in upstate New York. After 10 years of elementary school extracurricular education administration brought her back to working with glass, she now is a glass teacher again with North Shore Glass School in Salem, MA. Anya lives with her husband, daughter, and what she likes to describe as a "small zoo" in Rowley, Massachusetts, and is elated to be able to teach anyone and everyone to fall in love with glass just as she did.

North Shore Glass School:

North Shore Glass School is a small glass education establishment in Salem, Massachusetts. NSGS offers both in-studio and mobile fused glass classes, as well as stained glass and flameworking classes. Owned by seasoned glass artists Michael Hall and Matthew Cronin, NSGS is a warm and welcoming place for all ages to explore and learn more about the ancient art of glasswork.
