The Lynch Park Advisory Committee was formed by a group of concerned citizens in 2002 for the initial purpose of saving the culturally significant carriage house from further deterioration from weather damage and neglect.

Working in a voluntary capacity for Beverly's Parks & Recreation Commission, LPAC developed a master plan that included the total rehabilitation of the carriage house to become a community cultural center. With the financial backing of The Trustees of the David S. Lynch Fund, the building was stabilized with the installation of a new roof in 2005.

LPAC also hosted a series of public awareness and fundraising events, including productions in 2002 and 2005 of an original play about President Taft's summer White House. LPAC also established David S. Lynch Day to honor the man who gave the city the money to purchase the park from Beverly Hospital. LPAC has also sponsored popular cabaret style events at the Beverly Senior Center featuring the high school jazz band and a host of  talented musicians, singers, and dancers who have gone on to professional entertainment careers after graduating from Beverly High.

Progress inside the carriage house includes refurbishing the hard-wood floors and upgrading the restrooms with the addition of a handicap facility. Recent funds appropriated by the city government will help to pay for some basic structural improvements. In the meantime, LPAC is constantly seeking financial support from Beverly residents past and present to contribute to the exciting cause of seeing this architectural gem come alive once again.
